On Monday morning 18 August 2020, the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal of postponing the examinations of NEET or JEE 2020. The court declared that the examination of JEE is to be conducted from 1 September to 6 September and NEET is to conducted on 13 September as per the schedule. NTA has also issued admit card for JEE 2020 Exams for the students.

The major emphasis is on self-declaration by students in which every student have to declare that they are not in contact with a coronavirus infected person, didn’t have any cold, fever or if they have that is properly cured or not, did student went for any national or international journey, had they been quarantined during that time or not. Such declarations are to be made 14 days prior to examination date with an acknowledgement of student’s passport size photograph, their thumb mark and signature of their parents too.

Certain guidelines are issued to keep safety and security in the mind of students from this pandemic of COVID-19.

What exactly are the guidelines?

  • The examinations are to be conducted under two shifts one is from Morning 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and the other from 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
  • Everything should be sanitized properly like table & chair, keyboard, mouse, doors, grills at stairs, lift buttons, etc.
  • The body temperature of every student should be checked at the entrance of examination centres and also their hands should be sanitized properly under the supervision of security guards.
  • To maintain social distancing the candidates should reach the premises as on-time mentioned in their admit cards, not before that time.
  • A three-layer mask should be available at the premises of examination centres and students have to wear only those masks during their examinations.
  • Students can carry only JEE Mains admit card along with transparent water bottles, pens, and ID card with proper sanitization.
  • As per Indian Government instructions for social distancing, minimum 6ft distance should be followed in the sitting arrangement of students from each other.
  • The Admit Card should be checked with the help Bar code reader and metal detector are also going to use for the physical checking of the students to maintain social distancing.
  • Parents should not be at the examination centre during the exams of JEE 2020 as per guideline.
  • Students must bring their geometry box for drawing the graphs.
  • Handicapped students must bring their translator and also submit the self-declaration of their translator too along with their government-approved ID card.
  • Under Dress Code ethics, thick-soled shoes/slippers and large buttoned clothing are not allowed.
  • At the end of the examination, students should drop their rough worksheet and admit cards into a box that’s is given in the premises of the examination centre.
