STTP on Recent Trends in Urban Transportation at Sagar Group of Institutions SISTec Ratibad

Sagar Group of Institutions - Sagar Institute of Science Technology & Research (SISTec-R) Department of Civil Engineering conducted a Five-Day Short Term Training Programme (STTP) on "Recent Trends in Urban Transportation" sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV) under the Third phase of Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (referred to as TEQIP-III).

This training program mainly dealt with areas related to urban transportation, the importance of National Urban Transport Policies, comprehensive transportation planning process, performance analysis of Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS), and transportation planning on the software platform.

The training program was inaugurated by Chief Guest, Er. M. K. Gupta (Engineering in Chief, MPRRDA, Retd.), Guest of Honour, Dr. Chetan K. Patel (Asst. Prof. SVNIT, Surat), Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh (Principal SISTec-R), Dr. Megha Jain (Head, Civil Engineering Department, SISTec) and Asst. Prof. Mr. Swajit Singh Goud (Head, Civil Engineering Department SISTec-R).

During these five days, sessions from various eminent speakers were held to impart knowledge and recent practices of urban transportation. Expert Speakers during this five-day training program were: Mr. Ravin M Tailor (Asst. Prof. SVNIT, Surat), Dr. Chetan K. Patel (Asst. Prof. SVNIT, Surat), Dr. Anuj Jaiswal, (Asst. Prof., MANIT, Bhopal), Mr. Samir Patel (Senior Research Fellow, SVNIT, Surat), Mr. Bhavesh Dhonde (Asst. Prof. Government Engineering College, Daman), Mr. Pawan Sahitani (Urban Planner WAPCOS Ltd.), Dr. Siddharth Rokade (Assoc. Prof. MANIT Bhopal) and Mr. Manraj Singh Bains (Director, Unitrans Mobility Solutions Pvt. Ltd.)

The STTP ended with a closing ceremony where Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh (Principal SISTec-R) appreciated the successful conduction of the training program and stressed the importance of such programs and the benefits they provided to all attendees. A vote of thanks was given by event coordinator Prof. Anshul Jain.
