Webinar on National Education Policy - Innovation and Entrepreneurship Perspective at Sagar Group of Institutions SISTec Ratibad


Institution’s Innovation Council @ Sagar Group of Institutions - Sagar Institute of Science Technology & Research (SISTec-R) — IIC SISTec-R [formed under Ministry of Education (MoE) — MHRD’s Innovation Cell, a Government of India Initiative] organized an Orientation Session Webinar on National Education Policy — Innovation and Entrepreneurship Perspective via Facebook Live.

The eminent speakers for this session were:

1.) Prof. Milind Sudhakar Marathe — Educationist and Former Member Academic Council — Mumbai University

2.) Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta — Hon’ble Vice Chancellor — Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV), Bhopal

The main objective of this webinar was to create awareness about the newly launched National Education Policy 2020 from an entrepreneurial and innovative approach amongst teachers, students, officials, and other stakeholders in the higher education system.

Dr. Jyoti Deshmukh, Principal, SISTec-R, Bhopal began the session by welcoming the keynote speakers, guests, and participants. She highlighted the need for a new education policy for an upcoming development in the field of education as per the 21st century.

Prof. Milind Sarathe said, “A substantial impetus is placed on vocational education or hands-on learning in the new policy, giving rise to multiple hybrid jobs, with a rapid progression of information technology, and to be able to offer the students a much broader, multidisciplinary foundation.” He expressed the importance of using a holistic and multidisciplinary learning approach which will help the learners adapt and reinvent themselves to the demands of the new hybrid work culture and dynamic socio-cultural changes. He also emphasized the improvement of research work in India by adopting the new NEP.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Gupta said that the focus is not just education but to develop an entire generation that takes pride in India and the culture we represent. The vision is such that any student who has invested even a year should not walk away without any certificate and autonomy prevails within the educational system.

Mr. Pankaj Kumar Sharma concluded the session by emphasizing that a new phase and every change bring challenges and opportunities alike. He thanked all the speakers for exceptional information sharing in the session. The webinar proved to be an eye-opener on the nature of NEP-2020.
